Kevin Galloway is the newest commitment for the Wildcats. He is a 6’6″ point guard in the 2008 class. I know you may be thinking “We already are going to have two 6’6″ point guards next year why do we need this guy!??”, well as a matter of fact he is not like Jasper and Liggins, Galloway is a better scorer (Although his stats do not show it because he plays on a loaded team) and he can flat out pass the ball. Galloway’s Community College team was ranked #1 in the nation before losing the other night and they scored over 160 points in a game earlier this year. Galloway averaged 8 pts., 8 rbs., and 8 asts. per game this season.
Chris Turner is yet another 2008 prospect that Billy G is after. Turner originally commited to Oregon State but due to the coach being fired in mid season Turner got released from his LOI and made the trip to Lexington along with buddy, and Kentucky commit for the class of 2010, K.C. Ross-Miller. Turner is known as a freak athlete who makes big shots. Here is a video to prove his shot making ability as he hits a game winner.
Some of the recruits that were supposedely in attendance sunday against Florida are: Chris Turner, K.C. Ross-Miller & Verdell Jones, a 6’4″ guard out of Illinois from the 2008 class that I talked about last week.
According to many people (Including Jody Demling) coach Gillispie was at the Region 2 Tourament watching Scotty Hopson, close by was coach Bruce Pearl of Tennessee.
The raging debate of whether Kentucky is in the tournament already or not continues as many analysts continue to say yes and no. Jay Bilas and Doug Gottlieb of ESPN both think Kentucky needs to at least win one more game, while Seth Davis of CBS and Joe Lunardi (ESPN Bracketologist who rarely misses more than 4 games a year on his tournament predictions, who has us as a 9 seed playing Kansas State in the first round) of ESPN both think that Kentucky is already in. The debates continue on the message boards with many of the ‘Cat fans thinking they are already in obviously.
Here are a couple videos and audio clips from this week. There is one video and one audio clip of Billy Gillispie on a couple national ESPN broadcasts and then there is a senior day clip as well.
